Career History
Darryl has utilised his degrees and developed his skills in training and counselling with the Queensland TAFE, Personal Support Program (FACS / DEWR), Department of Health (QLD State), QuAC and other community development projects in teaching / project management. The areas covered are in drugs and alcohol, sexual health, relationships, youth, mentoring, mental health and community development. He is currently employment within his own counselling private practice and community development work in training and research
Awards
He has been awarded with two major awards:
Queensland Police Service Awards for Excellence in Crime Prevention 2007.
Community Action network Awards 2007
and is nominated for the 2008 Australian Crime and Violence Prevention Awards.
Publications
He has completed five major research projects:"QLD Health & Welbeing 2003", "Valleysafe Walksafe Research 2004" "Sexuality and Gender Identity Training for Health Professionals 2005" "Training & Professional Development for Staff in HIV/AIDS, Hep C and Sexual Health Sector 2006"and "Building Partnership Report 2007".
